One piece, made of four things: a moulding, an acrylic glaze, a metallic foil print and a rigid back. Here is each of them, photographed.
Classic 20 mm profile. Photographs from the workshop that makes our frames, not renderings.
Top to bottom: walnut, gilt, silver, dark grey, natural oak, black, white, light grey.
A 45 degree mitre, acrylic glaze, print edge to edge with no mount.
The print is not on white paper but on 350gsm metallic foil. Wherever the work is light, the foil shows through.
Warm shine. Skies, skin and light grounds glow; the blacks stay deep.
Cool shine. Sharpens greys and blues, suits northern works and drawings.
Gold foil, 40 × 50. The mouldings are photographed, not drawn.
